The municipality of Konstantynów Łódzki has announced 29 October 2026 as the planned opening date for BIG Konstantynów, a retail and services development west of Łódź. The date is a schedule, not confirmation that the shops have opened. The municipal announcement also describes about 30 retail and service outlets and an estimated 300 jobs linked to the investment.

Project partner Acteeum describes the new retail park as approximately 13,500 square metres of gross leasable area. Together with the already operating Kaufland and Bricomarché stores, the wider complex is planned to reach around 21,000 square metres. Those are different measures: the larger figure must not be presented as entirely new floor space.

The tenant mix extends beyond fashion and household goods to include food, fitness and healthcare services. The developers have emphasised the site’s position near residential neighbourhoods, the Retkinia area of Łódź and local transport links. That location could support routine shopping demand, although the announcement alone does not establish future footfall or turnover.

Industry publications on 14 October reported that the new retail space was fully leased ahead of opening. The latest developer update independently available to this review, dated 27 April, described commercialisation as nearing completion. The later 100% figure is therefore reported as an industry claim rather than treated as an independently audited occupancy result.

For commercial-property observers, the important distinction is between a development schedule, signed leases and a functioning asset. An opening date and tenant commitments can reduce some execution uncertainty, but neither demonstrates stabilised rental income. Actual trading performance, opening completion and any subsequent changes to the tenant roster remain to be assessed after 29 October.
